The University of Toledo College of Medicine is at the forefront of medical simulation with its virtual immersive reality center, employing a Barco I-Space and CADWalls to provide brand new ways for medical students to explore the human body.

The University of Toledo College of Medicine is at the forefront of medical simulation with its virtual immersive reality center, employing a Barco I-Space and CADWalls to provide brand new ways for medical students to explore the human body.
Portraying 3D computer images of skeletons, arteries and medical conditions is just one way VR visualization can provide a truly immersive learning experience. The University of Toledo is integrating Barco's solutions into its new "Tri-Center" Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center (IISC) which will include the VR center, a progressive anatomy and surgical skills center, and an advanced slinical simulation center. Real-life medical scenarious, conditions and procedures -- from disaster medical readiness to childbearing -- will be demonstrated in a hands-on, virtual interactive environment using the I-Space and CADWalls to provide the visually sophisticated graphics and models.
