On 17 October, the annual YOUCA Action Day took place in Belgium, where 15,000 students dedicated a school day to work and donate their earnings to support youth projects. YOUCA (YOUth for Change and Action) is a youth-led organization empowering young people to work toward a sustainable, fair world through awareness and hands-on engagement. This year, the projects they support focus on the right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable neighborhood for young people in Gaza and Burundi.
Exploring careers while giving back
On that day, seven students joined us to get a taste of life at Barco. They explored various departments and business units, including HR, strategic initiatives, investor relations, ClickShare, immersive experiences, and the brand & communication team. At the end of the day, we asked some students about their experiences:
Ayoub shared, “I had a fun and entertaining day at Barco, learning more about how they create visuals for healthcare, entertainment, and enterprise. Meeting new people was inspiring, and I especially enjoyed the VR experience.”
“I already knew about Barco through my grandmother, and my interest in the company has only grown. It was an educational day and a very positive experience!” added Mathias.
The day clearly sparked the students’ imagination, blending career inspiration with contributions to impactful projects aimed at creating a bright tomorrow for young people around the world.
