The year is drawing to a close, and people around the globe are gearing up for the holidays. At Barco Healthcare, we would like to use this last blog post of 2016 to express our gratitude; to you, our readers, but also to our Visionary Panel and to healthcare professionals everywhere. Thank you for your dedicated care and your ceaseless commitment – even during the holidays!
A panel with a vision
In particular, we would like to thank the radiologists and doctors who took part in our Visionary Panel. Over the last 12 months, they have helped us explore the evolution and development of the radiology profession in close collaboration with our Visionary Panel. We discovered the differences between generations of radiologists and looked at how radiology became ever more central to the medical profession. We also spoke to radiologists about how their engagement with patients has changed, and how the development of technology has influenced their job.
Being patient
At Barco, we aim to make healthcare professionals’ lives as comfortable as possible. However, patients are always at the forefront of our minds as well. That’s why we provide an integrated approach to patient care across the hospital enterprise, boosting clinical performance in every department. You will find Barco at every patient touch point, from the imaging exam, to the radiology reading room, to specialist consultations and treatment planning, to the surgical or interventional radiology suite to education at the patient’s bedside. We want to support healthcare professionals in achieving the very best for their patients. During the Olympics and Paralympics, we highlighted some best practices in radiology, medical imaging and screening.
Keeping abreast of what matters
One of Barco’s main strengths and a recurring topic in this blog is breast cancer screening and mammography. This year, we helped radiologists to gain insight into the latest trends and developments in mammography. During Breast Cancer Awareness month, we put three incredible women in the spotlight to celebrate their life and beauty beyond breast cancer. Lysianne told us that “when you are diagnosed with cancer, it completely knocks you down”. Her testimony reminds us of the importance of bringing people together to celebrate and cherish life, family, community and health.
Happy holidays!
As such, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers and followers happy holidays, good health, peace and a prosperous 2017. In particular, we want to express our appreciation for those healthcare professionals who work during the holidays – not only on Christmas, but also during Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Bodhi, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah – to ensure that everyone gets the care he or she needs. At Barco, we are thankful and proud to support all healthcare professionals in realizing the very best outcomes for patients and their loved ones.
