Barco’s HDQ-2K40 projectors bring the history of Maastricht to life on the town hall

For the second year in a row, Barco partner Houben Mediaverhuur (the Netherlands) has recently taken the lead in an impressive projection mapping project in the Dutch city of Maastricht. Three of Barco’s new HDQ-2K40 projectors depicted the history of the city on its town hall. “The brightness of the projectors is really spectacular, under all conditions,” said project manager Roger Ronda.

Part of a new family of ultra-bright projectors launched earlier this year, Barco’s HDQ-2K40 offers 40,000 lumens light output and 2K resolution, thus displaying stunning images with rich, vibrant colors and exceptional contrast. Even in a portrait set-up, like the one Houben Mediaverhuur used at Maastricht.

Ronda: “The projectors performed excellently on the 35x18m building. Thanks to the total of 120,000 lumens, we didn’t have to stack two projectors on top of each other, which helped us save time and, subsequently, money. In fact, the HDQ-2K40 is a bit more expensive to rent but its total cost of ownership is really lower, as fewer projectors are needed and less time has to be spent on their set-up.”
