Unveiled last week during a press conference led by Commissioner-General Pieter De Crem and Chairwoman of the BelExpo Board, H.E. Jehanne Roccas, the pavilion’s visitor journey promises to captivate audiences through a blend of cutting-edge technology and artistic direction.
The Belgian pavilion will feature scenography focusing on this edition’s sub-theme ‘Saving Lives’ with a human-centered narrative about enhancing humanity, a call for renewal in the face of today’s challenges and a deep reflection on our capacity to change and progress.
Following a government tender procedure, BelExpo, in collaboration with the Buildings Agency, awarded the contract to a consortium of creative and technological leaders, including Dirty Monitor, Tempora, Profirst, ShowTex, and Barco. Barco's industry-leading laser projection technology will be at the heart of the pavilion's visitor journey, creating an immersive, multisensory experience that celebrates both technology and humanity.
As a trusted name in both medical imaging and entertainment visualization, Barco is uniquely positioned to support the Belgian pavilion’s narrative on healthcare.
“We’re incredibly honored to be part of such a prestigious collaboration,” said Wouter Bonte, VP Sales for Barco Entertainment. “By combining our expertise in immersive projection technology with creative storytelling, the Belgian Pavilion will offer visitors an impactful experience reflecting Belgium’s healthcare innovation and leadership in profound ways.”
The construction of the Belgian pavilion is progressing rapidly, with the grand opening of Expo 2025 scheduled for April 13, 2025. Barco, along with its consortium partners, is fully committed to delivering a pavilion that offers an unforgettable, immersive journey to visitors from around the world.
