weConnect - How to ask silent questions or send a classroom message

Students can actively contribute during the active lectures. They can raise a question: tap on the hand, teacher is aware that they is a raised hand, Teacher will allow a student to ask question in the live session. Moreover, there is a timer by default 10 seconds that serves as an indication for a student how long the hand virtually is raised.

There are two options:

- Send message: all participants will be able to see the question raised by a student;

- Ask the host: this message will be directly seen by the Lecturer/Host/Teacher 

 

In order to send a classroom message, enter your remark in the text box and hit the Send a message icon to send it.

Lecturers can also see and react to the classroom message timeline.

The silent questions feature allows you to ask a question to the lecturer without the need to raise your hand.  Your fellow participants in the lecture will be able to read your question and indicate if they like it.  Lecturers automatically get the most liked questions in a list in their user interface.  They can answer the question at any time or keep it as feedback to improve the lecture in the future.

 

Click the Ask the Host to ask your silent question and enter your question in the text box.  Hit the enter key or the question mark balloon again to post your question. There is also a possibility this question to be anonymous when sending to broader audience. 

You can easily spot the difference between a message and a silent question:

If you think a silent question is something you feel should be answered, then hit the thumbs up icon to like the question.  This will make the question more prominently presented to the lecturer.

If your question has been answered and the teacher has not checked off the question you can hit the dustbin icon to delete the question.
