Well, we’ve surely been able to help create a unique experience on Monday night, as our flagship Laser3D system screened ‘The Walk’, the pre-opening movie of the prestigious Film Fest Gent (Belgium). In the coming days, our 6P laser-illuminated projector will be able to show off its exceptional brightness and contrast during the screening of seven more movies.
Stunningly bright
As a long-term sponsor of Film Fest Gent, Barco is truly excited about the festival première of its flagship DP4K-60L laser projector. And we couldn’t have dreamt of a better movie to first showcase its power than the 3D movie ‘The Walk’. After all, our laser-illuminated projectors solve all the major drawbacks of current 3D systems. “Thanks to Barco’s unique integrated Laser3D system, with 6-Primary (6P) color laser modules, our projectors show stunningly bright and uniform images in crisp detail, with exceptionally rich colors and eye-popping 4K contrast with great blacks,” explains Goran Stojmenovik, laser product manager.
The thrill of walking on a tightrope
‘The Walk’, which premièred at the New York Film Festival in September retells the story of Philippe Petit, who walked on a rope between New York's towers in 1974. The movie is praised for its brilliant special effects. Our laser projection further splendidly managed to strengthen the immersive feeling, letting the audience experience how it really felt like to walk 125 meters above the ground, in bustling New York City.
Installed in theater 2, Barco’s laser projector will help bring seven more stories to life during the prestigious film festival, including tonight’s opening film - the Belgian debut film 'D’Ardennen' - and 'The Lobster', whose screening will be attended by director Yorgos Lanthimos and the famous actor Colin Farrell.
