Spectacular video mapping show, courtesy of powerful Barco projector and Barco experts
Gorizia, IT - 2016
Located right at the border of Slovenia, the Italian city of Gorizia is at the crossroads between the Latin European, Slavic European and Germanic European cultures. As the Habsburg aristocracy loved Gorizia in the past for its gardens and mild climate, the city now boasts many historic palaces. The prestigious Palazzo Lantieri in the Piazza Sant’Antonio is one of them. It was the ideal backdrop for the city’s second Raylight video projection event, in September 2016.
Shining a light onto the richness of Gorizia
If you were one of the 2,000 spectators to visit the Raylight event, you’d definitely have been enthusiastic. For 23 minutes, the show zoomed in on the richness of the city of Gorizia – from music and entertainment through to fantastic wines. The projection mapping was organized by non-profit cultural organization Mitteldream, which is composed of engineers who are connoisseurs of graphics tech, video effects and technology.
Barco talent wows all around
Barco sponsored the visualization and cabling efforts, providing powerful, 3-chip DLP RLM-W14 projectors that produced images at up to 14,500 lumens in brightness over two buildings of the prestigious Palazzo Lantieri.
Flavio Chianese, technical and project manager for Barco, and engineers Emanuele Musulin and Henry Bonamigo designed, developed and deployed the multimedia system and the enchanting animations – outside of working hours! – that wowed spectators every hour for two days. And for many more days afterwards, on social media networks …
