The best possible technology for BNA’s 21st century news studio
Originally named Gulf News Agency, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) broadcasted its very first news bulletin on 1 April 1978. Since then, the state news agency has been distributing local and international news in both Arabic and English. To stay on top of its game, it has always invested in the most advanced technologies. No wonder then that the new studio, which BNA inaugurated in September 2014, features Barco equipment.
Product quality and services
“It is key for us to keep up with the latest technological developments and innovations,” explains Binoy Varughese Kalayil of the Enterprise Electro Mechanical Division. “The construction of our new headquarters was an ideal opportunity to achieve the highest possible standards. When looking for a first-class backdrop solution for our studio, Barco came out tops, on account of its exceptional quality and services.”
Exceptional brightness for years to come
Since the end of 2014, the new BNA studio has been featuring an OverView OVL-515 LED-lit video wall with 21 modules, in a 7 x 3 set-up, and an Encore processor. “The images are really very bright, with uniform colors across the entire display. More than that, they keep that brightness and color uniformity over time, thanks to Barco’s unique Sense6 sensor technology, amongst other things,” Binoy Varughese Kalayil continued. “Besides delivering quality images, the Barco video wall also ensures low maintenance and a high, long-term reliability. As the unique active liquid cooling technology guarantees a long LED lifetime, we’re confident that we – and our viewers – be able to enjoy the high Barco quality for years to come.”
