How to install self-signed certificate for WiCS-2100/WiPG-1600W to make the admin webpage secured?

Users will see the wePresent admin webpage as unsecured connection, so wePresent admin webpage provides the self-signed certificate to make the connection secure (https). Here we’ll take Google Chrome as an example in the following to show you how to install a self-signed certificate to your web browser to make the connection secure.

Note

The procedure below only applicable for WiCS-2100 with firmware version 1.5 and above and WiPG-1600W with firmware version 2.5 and above.

Procedure

  1. Open Google Chrome and enter the IP address of your wePresent device in the URL bar.



  2. Download the self-signed certificate from the wePresent admin webpage.



  3. Go to the Settings > Privacy and security> Manage certificates in Google Chrome.





  4. Go to Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click Import…



  5. Click Next and then click Browse… to select the certificate you'd downloaded.







  6. Click Next



  7. Check the option Place all certificates in the following stores and then click Next.



  8. Click Finish.



  9. A Security Warning message pops up. Click Yes and then click OK to finish the import.





  10. Open Google Chrome and enter the hostname/IP address of the wePresent device in the URL bar.




  11. Click the lock icon in the URL bar Connection is secure message is visible.
