Golf balls, a good cause and a motivated team: Barco’s day out on the greens
1 min di lettura
Spend a day on a golf course to support a good cause ‒ sounds like an ideal summer initiative, doesn't it? On 27 June last, Barco’s Scott Wilson, Sales Manager Healthcare UK & Ireland, teamed up with three golf enthusiasts from Barco business partners Sectra and Veritek for the ‘RAD Magazine Foundation Golf Challenge’. Their participation brought in some welcome cash for the ‘Everyman’ initiative of the UK’s Institute of Cancer Research. On top of that, Barco proudly sponsored the golf balls used that day.
Supporting Everyman
Every year the staff at the RAD Magazine ‒ a trade journal for medical imaging and radiotherapy professionals ‒ chooses a main charity to support in the coming year, through charity events. In 2013, the Foundation decided to raise funds for Everyman, an appeal by the Institute of Cancer Research to foster its pioneering research into male cancers. One of the many charity initiatives set up during 2013 was the Golf Challenge, at the idyllic Channels Golf Club in Essex, UK.
A big hit
In support of the event, Barco’s Healthcare staff entered two teams. Scott Wilson was happy to pick up the golf club, as were his business associates: Graeme Russell, Business Consultant at Veritek Global, and Darrell Bailey and Bob Childe, Account Manager and Sales & Operations Director at Sectra Ltd respectively. They didn’t win but had a great day out and were happy to support the good cause. And the Barco golf balls were a big hit too!
