The objective of the ClickShare Apps Beta Community is to give end users the opportunity to try out pre-release features in the ClickShare Apps. It is open to anyone who registers with a Barco ID and who accepts the ClickShare Apps Beta Agreement during the sign-up process. The feedback you provide helps us identify opportunities to make these features and the Apps even better. And of course you can leave the Community at any moment.
Be aware that Beta features and software have not yet been commercially released, and may not function as well as commercially released versions. Activate and use the Beta features and software only on non-production devices that are not business critical.
Joining the Beta Community
If the ClickShare Desktop App is installed on your laptop and the Beta Program is not disabled by the IT administrator during deployment , you can join the Beta Program right from the App.
Prerequisite:
Ensure that both Beta Program and Product Usage Analytics are enabled when deploying the ClickShare Desktop App via MSI, for details see KB 3329.
How to join:
- In your ClickShare Desktop App, open the Settings page.
1. Click the user profile icon on the top-right side.
2. Click Settings. - Slide the Beta Program toggle to the right to enable.
Note:
If the Beta Program toggle appears grayed out, please run the attached PowerShell uninstaller. It will remove ClickShare and all settings from all user profiles.
Usage Statistics must be enabled in order to join the Beta Program. Disabling the Usage Statistics will automatically remove you from the Beta Program.
- Register with a myBarco Id.
Log in with an existing myBarco Id or create a new one by typing in your professional email (how to: see KB 10012).
- Click Agree to accept the ClickShare Apps Beta Test Agreement.
- A confirmation appears to welcome you to the Beta Community. Click Close.
At the same time a confirmation email is sent to the email address linked to your myBarco Id.
Leaving the Beta Community
At any point in time you can decide to leave the Beta Community and deactivate the Beta features in the App.
In the Settings page, simply slide the 'Beta Program' toggle to the left. This will automatically unsubscribe you from the Beta Community, remove the personal information processed during the registration process and while using the Beta features and deactivate the Beta features in the App.
In order to join the Beta Community and as long as the Beta Program is enabled in the App, we may process personal information, including your name, email, country, organization and job title. This data may be used to reach out to you in order to:
- Keep you informed of new features you can try out in Beta
- Reach out to you for feedback on the Beta features and the ClickShare Experience in general
- Find out what we can add to the ClickShare Experience that would make your meetings flow even more.
