The ClickShare device allows for the configuration of setups with multiple displays, such as monitors and screens. Two types of setups can be configured depending on the ClickShare device used.
This article covers:
Multi-display setup:
ClickShare setup with dual screens
This setup type is supported only with ClickShare CX-50 Gen2, CB Pro and CSE-800 devices, where two physical screens are connected directly to the ClickShare devices. With this setup, you can optionally connect multiple monitors to your laptop, which is connected to the ClickShare device via either a ClickShare Button or the ClickShare Desktop App.
For the CX-50 Gen2 and CB Pro, this setup allows video content and shared content to be displayed on separate screens during conference calls with remote participants: meeting room participant's video on the first screen and shared content on the second screen. During presentations, this setup facilitates content from different users to be displayed on separate screens. . For full details on connection setup, refer to the Installation Manual for your ClickShare device (how-to: see KB9362). For information on participant video and shared content layout, refer to KB7868 for the CX-50 Gen2 and KB12624 for the CB Pro.
For a Wired RoomDock setup with the CX-50 Gen2 and CB Pro using dual screens, refer to KB7294 for the CX-50 Gen2 and KB11932 for the CB Pro.
Note: For the CB Pro, the dual screens setup is only supported if the CB Pro is running firmware version 2.20 or higher.
For the CSE-800, this setup is used only for presentations and allows shared content to be displayed on both screens. For full details on connection setup and shared content layout, please refer to the chapter "Video Signal Connections to the Base Unit" in the Installation manual and the chapter "Advanced Use" in the User guide for your CSE-800 respectively (how-to: see KB9362).
ClickShare setup with a laptop connected to multiple monitors
This setup type is supported with all existing ClickShare devices. In this configuration, multiple (up to two) physical monitors are directly connected to a laptop, which is connected to the ClickShare device through a ClickShare Button or the ClickShare Desktop App. This setup is primarily recommended for meeting rooms used for presentation purposes. For full details on connection setup preview, please refer to the User guide for your ClickShare device (how-to: see KB9362).
This setup can be used with ClickShare devices connected to either a single screen or dual screens:
- CX-50 Gen2 and CB Pro: Connected to either a single screen or dual screens for conference calls and presentations
- CX-20/30 (Gen1 and Gen2), CX-50 Gen1, C-5/10 (Gen1 and Gen2) and CB core: connected to single screen for conference calls and presentations
- CS(E)-series connected to single screen or dual screens (with CSE-800 only) for presentations
Using a multi-display setup in a meeting:
- Conference calls and presentations: Join a conference call with ClickShare using a UC&C tool like Microsoft Teams or Zoom, then use the ClickShare ConferenceView feature to share meeting room participants' video and the shared content layout on the screens (how to, see KB12677).
- Presentations: Connect with the ClickShare device using the ClickShare Desktop App. ClickShare Button or ClickShare Mobile App and start sharing your screen.
